November 25: Thanksgiving Program with Dr. Vliet and Guest speaker, Pastor Bill Wilson, author of The Daily Jot and ordained minister, founder of Living Spring Church. We will discuss the Biblical basis of America’s founding and our First Thanksgiving at Jamestown Island in 1609, and the Thanksgiving at Plymouth MA in 1621. It is significant that both our speakers are descendant of religious liberty seekers settling in America who were at both of these Thanksgiving celebrations. Dr. Vliet is a descendant of Thomas Gray who came to Jamestown Island in 1608 and attended the first Jamestown Thanksgiving, and Bill Wilson’s ancestor attended the first Massachusetts Thanksgiving.
Bill Wilson is a Christian minister, journalist, professional writer, and commentator on current events as they relate to the Bible and prophecy.
With nearly 40 years’ experience, Wilson spent the first part of his career as an award-winning journalist. He then entered the realm of political and media consulting, serving Members of Congress and assisting with Presidential and other political campaigns. Thus, Bill intimately understands current events from a dual perspective—he’s been both the one who reports the news and the one who influences what is reported. He has traveled the world, sharing with diverse audiences how current events relate to Biblical prophecy. Bill has addressed audiences around the world regarding current events and how they relate to God’s word.
His daily column, The Daily Jot, was founded January 18, 2002, and analyzes a news event each day from a Biblical worldview and closes with a Bible verse that suits the events in our lives. Bill has written two books, including A Christian Parent’s Guide To Making the Internet Family Friendly and WARSHOD–Living Victoriously in the End Times. Together, Bill and his wife Chris founded Living Spring Church, the covering ministry of The Daily Jot. They have been serving the Lord in various capacities since they were in their teens. Growing up in rural Ohio, they attended school together, showed horses in 4-H together, were best of friends, and have been married nearly 35 years.
