“What is Truth?” Pontius Pilate asks Jesus this question before he casts judgement on him. The Truth can be hard to find especially in these current times in America. Lies seem to come from all directions and are blended with a little bit of truth to confuse the masses. As the saying goes, “a lie makes it around the world before the truth puts is pants on.”
Military CBRN expert and student of Biblical prophecy, Major Mike Gary, dissects Matthew 28 to help show the relevance of the Bible’s wisdom in discerning our current times. In Matthew 28:13, the Pharisee’s command the Roman guard, “Tell them, His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.”
This verse is a Biblical example of authorities lying to the people to deny Truth. Earlier, the religious/political order had dismissed John the Baptist, who was beheaded for speaking God’s Truth, and Jesus who was tortured and crucified for speaking God’s Truth, along with dismissing and imprisoning Jesus’ Disciples and the women at the tomb as being liars. They were the Biblical version of today’s “conspiracy theorists” pejorative label. The Bible, God’s inspired, infallible, inerrant, authoritative Word is the best place to start to help discern the truth and sift through all the lies of Satan, whose name means “the accuser.” We need to stand on God’s Truths. God lays out how desperate man is and how eager he is to sin, as well as telling a lie for his benefit. God knew that flawed human beings desperately needed a Savior!
As America continues into this dark period where everything is flipped upside down from “right is wrong” and “wrong is right,” consider the phrase “Conspiracy Theories.” The phrase “conspiracy theory” or “conspiracy theorist” is taken with a negative connotation in today’s informational environment. Individuals falsely labeled “conspiracy theorists” have a strong record of being right on the facts on many topics affecting our lives and survival today.
Today’s “conspiracy theorists” are actually Truth Tellers who are honoring God’s command to Ezekiel to be a Watchman on the Wall to warn people of coming dangers that threaten lives.
As Ecclesiastes 1:9 states “There is nothing new under the sun.” This verse should operate as a guiding principle for the believer. This verse should also cause one to seek the past to develop solutions for the present. As most people would agree, man is selfish and self-serving. We need to keep our authorities honest with checks and balances.
America’s founding fathers created the American Declaration of Independence, US Constitution, and Bill of Rights with this in mind. That is the reason our Constitutional Republic was founded on the system of separate and independent functions for legislative, judicial and executive powers, with a “watchdog” free press to keep further checks and balances on abuses of power. But today’s mainstream media controlled by censorship from big-tech, special interests and and government abusing its power is the tactic of totalitarianism our founders warned against. Americans need to wake up to and stand against these dire and evil threats to our freedoms before it is too late.
