October 21: AI’s Tragic Effects: Driving Children to Suicide
Speakers: Elizabeth Lee Vliet MD and Stephen Sammut, PhD. Congressional testimony mid-September included heartbreaking statements from parents testifying about tragic suicides of children using AI. Dr. Sammut will be speaking as a neuroscientist studying crowd behavior and social control as well as brain science and Dr, Vliet will be speaking as a physician – both will address the ways in which using AI alters both brain pathways and behavior to affect learning, social conditioning, and ultimately risks of suicide and violence against others.
