Daily Jot Special Report: Over 300 Children Fed Word of God and Food

By Pastor William Agbeti, Daily Jot and Living Spring Church, Ghana

Over 100 Children find salvation in Christ

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have constantly been innovating to find lasting solutions to the food, spiritual and material needs of the vulnerable in society. Our latest innovation is the creation of a major collaborative program that has brought together five key organizations to serve the needs of hundreds of needy rural children at the same time and on the same platform! Glory be to God!

These needs include the provisions of hot meals, raw food packages, used clothing and spiritual manna! How is this possible? Simply through the power of collaboration! Our maiden major collaboration involved five key institutions. The first being CRRECENT (Child Research & Resource Center), an organization reaching out to juvenile delinquents serving time in various remand homes.

The second organization is CEF, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Ghana. This ministry has tentacles stretching to most rural areas to bring children to Christ. The fellowship provided free Bibles, Christian books, teaching resources, music, arts and crafts and counseling materials for all 300 children. Above all, it led the children to Christ and over 100 decisions were made for Christ and several children reaffirmed their commitment to Jesus!

The third organization is a used clothing dealers association that donated eight maxi bags of used clothes for our program. Most of the items were too big for the children, but we asked the adults around to select as many as they wanted for themselves and others elsewhere. One of the volunteers feverishly looked for a jacket that could fit him, but didn’t get any. He said he had never owned a jacket! We promised to get him one!

It was such great joy to see many individuals put on dresses they selected from the lot we brought them with big smiles on their faces! Other key players included local churches, that helped to organize the 300 children for our program, under whose umbrella many of the children would end up as part of various congregations. There was this local school that also freely gave us their facilities to use for the program. Many of the volunteers also freely brought bread, books, Bibles and other freebies to spice up the occasion! This allowed us to have various stations–music, story, counseling, and games–to share Christ and for the kids to have some fun!

What a win-win situation we all had through collaboration! Interestingly, as we collaborated with various organizations to create maximum impact on underserved children, we were practically obeying the voice of the Lord, as expressed in Matthew‬ ‭25:35-36 and other similar scriptures: “…. I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” How very interesting, that a single program, through the power of collaboration, could easily address all of the concerns of Christ in Matthew 25:35-36.

Besides above local functionaries in our newly founded network of collaborators, there are other foreign stake holders, the Dailyjot and Living Spring Church. Members of these two communities make everything possible for our Ministry to freely share hot meals and raw food packages, through their financial and prayer supports. Thanks to all of our collaborators. To all others we say come join our new network and find a niche to serve needy rural children, their families and communities.

Together we can conquer the economic hardships brought about by COVID-19 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, through the power of collaboration!

Come join us!

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!
