This includes services and support of communication, epidemiology, immunization, vaccine preparedness, infection prevention and control, and social and behavioral science activities. The Positions are based in Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America. We are seeking multiple Emergency Management Specialists to join our team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Emergency Management Specialists will serve as global health security public health emergency managers, assisting with strengthening host country capabilities to respond to infectious disease outbreaks like COVID-19, Ebola virus disease, Measles monkeypox, etc., As well as natural, accidental, and intentional (terrorism, crime, civil disorder) disasters with public health implications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Liaise with all US Government agencies, including CDC, USAID, and other stakeholders, such as the Ministry of Health, provincial health departments and universities and medical personnel, and CDC implementing partners to develop and maintain a highly functional emergency operation center and incident command system in the country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide technical assistance to public health emergency management staff at the Ministry of Health and provincial health departments for the COVID-19 response and other infectious disease outbreaks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and implement guidance materials and standard operating procedures for COVID-19 and infectious disease outbreaks (COVID-19, Ebola virus disease emergency management, including training and exercises.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide written communication, reports, program data, budget data, and fact sheets or success stories about COVID-19 and infectious disease outbreaks (COVID-19, Ebola virus disease emergency response preparedness routinely and as requested within deadlines requested.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in CDC Africa team meetings or working groups related to COVID-19, and COVID-19 Commissions, and provide information, advice, and guidance as related to emergency response preparedness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proactively identify any problems or issues beyond the ability of the incumbent to resolve, along with suggestions for resolution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop written COVID-19 and other infectious disease outbreaks (COVID-19, Ebola virus disease performance plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold an oral meeting twice a month with the Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America DGHP Program Director to provide an update on activities and progress made then for sub-tasks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Education: Master&#8217;s degree in public health, public policy, public administration, medicine, or epidemiology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Five (5) years of experience working the public health programs and effectively coordinating operations, management, and analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three (3) years of dedicated experience in public health emergency management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of World Health Organization (WHO) standards and policies, Public Health Emergency Operations Centre Network (EOC-NET) guidelines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extensive knowledge of global public health activities and strategies, including advanced knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS) framework.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Able to effectively conduct communication and diplomacy in public health, evident by documented experience working with countries\u2019 Ministries of Health, United Nations Office of Coordination Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), United Nations Disaster Assistance Coordination (UNDAC), U.S. Department of State (DOS), Embassies, and international public health entities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multilingual.
