The Story of the Truth For Health Store<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since the beginning of my career in medicine, I have recommended a combination of vitamins and supplements I considered essential to optimizing health \u2013my core \u201cHealth and Resilience\u201d formula. You can see the ones in that group listed on our website. Over the years I have researched various supplement manufacturers to make specific suggestions for high quality balanced with cost and availability.\u00a0 I had a few companies I felt met the standards I wanted to recommend for my patients.<\/p>\n

But the general public, most doctors, and most alternative practitioners selling products don\u2019t know that over the last 5+ years, many of the smaller companies making top-quality supplements that I used to recommend have been bought out by big Pharma, giant food conglomerates, and even investment companies\u2014<\/em>these huge global corporations seek to capture the huge profits in the burgeoning supplement market.\u00a0 To maximize profits, these mega-companies are not necessarily focused on maintaining high quality as they look to increase profit margins with cheaper ingredients.\u00a0 I am no longer recommending the products I used to for my family and patients because of my concerns for changes in quality and source of the ingredients and lack of transparency.<\/p>\n

This is what led me to develop our Truth for Health Foundation private label. After much time and research, I have been able to curate products with the quality I trust for my family, my patients and myself and put my name on to recommend for others. All Truth for Health products are made in the USA and meet or exceed certified Good Manufacturing Practices (look for the cGMP<\/em><\/strong> on each label).\u00a0 What does this mean?<\/p>\n

The term \u201ccGMP\u201d (current Good Manufacturing Practices) always refers to regulations that ensure products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. The exact rules and who enforces them depend on the product type (pharmaceutical drugs vs. dietary supplements) and the country.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the United States, it is the FDA that is the main regulatory authority overseeing GMP are met for pharmaceuticals (human and veterinary) under 21 CFR Parts 210 & 211 (often just called \u201ccGMP for drugs\u201d).\u00a0 For Dietary Supplements (vitamins, herbs, protein powders, etc.) it is 21 CFR Part 111 (\u201ccGMP for Dietary Supplements\u201d).\u00a0 FDA inspectors carry out the inspections when a company wishes to invest in reaching the higher standard of GMP certification.\u00a0 Most supplement manufacturers in the US simply don\u2019t bother to seek this higher standard because it costs more and cuts into their profits.\u00a0 If the company passes inspection, the FDA indicates it is in \u201cgood standing\u201d and then the actual certification comes from a recognized third-party certifying body.<\/p>\n

In the case of dietary supplements, the National Science Foundation (NSF) is the certifying agency that issues the cGMP certificate to the manufacturer.\u00a0 Only those dietary supplements that have been through the rigorous testing, inspection and certification process can carry the cGMP notice on their product labels.\u00a0 It means the facility and equipment are exceptionally clean with strict adherence to procedure, making it stand out as an exceptional dietary supplement manufacturer.\u00a0 Under GMP guidelines, every step of the manufacturing process is documented using established standard operating procedures. These include training, equipment, raw materials, facilities, and final-release criteria.<\/p>\n

Every product\u2019s development can be traced back to the date, time, person, lot number, and piece of equipment associated with it. This batch information can be back-traced through an ePedigree system. These processes safeguard product integrity and patient health. Each bottle\u2019s unique QR code is scanned into an ePV system before shipping.<\/p>\n

All of this attention to cleanliness and quality matters greatly! The conditions in which your supplements are manufactured make a huge difference when you are taking them to improve your health! Our manufacturer uses top-of-the-line environmental controls featuring industry-leading equipment brands like Trane and Munters to ensure proper storage of ingredients and finished products. For example, our probiotics are one of many temperature-sensitive components that are kept properly controlled in a 48,500\u2013cubic foot drive-in refrigerator to make our best-in-class formulas possible.<\/p>\n

KEEP IN MIND! If a product you are using does NOT have the cGMP notice on the label, that there is NO regulatory oversight for quality control, source of ingredients, plant cleanliness, or whether the product actually contains what is on the label!<\/strong>\u00a0 That is the main reason I have stopped recommending supplement products that do not carry the cGMP label.<\/p>\n
