Heather Sands Correll was a Senior Chief in the USCG abruptly forced out of the Coast Guard Reserves into inactive status with no pay and no benefits, just short of 20 years\u2019 service because she refused to get the experimental COVID shot or advise the enlisted service members under her command to do so. Chaplain Chad Booth, Captain in the US Army with nearly 17 years\u2019 service, lost his Chaplain position and was kept in limbo in his career and prevented from moving to his next duty station because he also refused the COVID injection standing on his faith conviction that God had directed him not to take it.&nbsp; Both Heather and Chad described this time in their careers as being in \u201cpurgatory.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How did they each face this loss and cope with the threats to their medical and religious freedom after having served so many years defending those freedoms for all of us? How did they come to terms with the difficult question: why do bad things happen to good people? How did they overcome bitterness to reach a point of forgiveness for those who had harmed their careers, maligned their good names, and cost them income and career advancement?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of us will face some kind of loss in life at some point. Whether your suffering comes in the form of crushing disappointment, chronic illness, disability, divorce, loss of job or career, or the loss of someone you love, each loss can turn into either making us angry and bitter, or can lead to spiritual growth reaching a point of seeing blessings in disguise as we discover the plan God has for such upheaval and pain in our lives.&nbsp; Our guests today walk us through their loss to share with us how they each found that new meaning in life is possible&#8211;one marked by spiritual depth, joy, compassion, forgiveness and a deeper appreciation of simple and ordinary gifts.&nbsp; The bottom line is that we each have to learn that in our sailboat of our life, we cannot control the wind, but we <em>can adjust and trim the sails to continue our journey.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For each of us, the circumstances we face are not as important as what we do with those circumstances.
